Een maand Brexit: hoe staat het ervoor

Please scroll down for the English version.

One month after the introduction of BREXIT

It is logical that Brexit would cause 'problems', British Prime Minister Johnson recently said. But now that the dust of Brexit is settling, companies are also struggling with structural problems. However, MODINT has not yet received many questions in January about new business with the UK. However, there were already questions about the new UKCA mark that will replace the CE mark in December 2020. To this end, a Q&A was organized by MODINT in December 2020.

Many companies are still avoiding the border and will therefore only be introduced to the new rules later this year. Most important bottlenecks / points of attention are (in no particular order):

  • Correct application of rules of origin
  • Delays at UK customs
  • UKCA mark

We would like to point out to companies the already existing options for obtaining support during Brexit. For example, there are the Brexit vouchers for entrepreneurs who do business with the UK and who want support to identify the concrete consequences for the company or are looking for advice and / or coaching. Companies that want to orient themselves more in other markets can apply for one of the Starters International Business vouchers, for example to receive coaching in the search for alternative markets.

MODINT Logistics also supports companies in their search for concrete solutions if you have problems trading with the UK. Modint already organized a meeting in 2019 (in collaboration with transport company Verhoek) about the customs effects of the BREXIT specifically for the carpet companies.
MODNT would like to hear what you may encounter at the moment and where we can be of advice. Please contact Antonio Barberi Ettaro.
