The expected revision aims to improve and simplify the current REACH Regulation through reforming existing processes, such as authorisations and restrictions. It also revises substance evaluation, enforcement provisions and makes it easier to communicate in the supply chains. The REACH revision is one of the key files under the Commission’s Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability and delivering on Green Deal goals.
Timeline
The Commission aims to present the proposal by Q4 2023. Once published, it will be sent to the European Parliament and the Council.
